*Additional information

Key factors in photography pricing are the complexity and cost of the shoot itself and the end the use of the images. These packages are intended for the type of business hadshots photographed on studio backgrounds typically used by real estate professionals, sales people, insurance agents, and others who need high quality business headshots on their business cards, LinkedIn profiles, Facebook Pages and similar marketing materials.

Other types of portraits and other uses, are priced differently. Examples would be environmental portraits where consideral work and planning goes into creating the theme to communicate the message, outdoor location shoots, or editorial portraits where the background tells a story. Photos that are used in large scale advertising or PR campaigns are priced at industry standard rates according to the use.

Additional services are available, such as prints, or photoshopping in a background such as the city or a mountain range at an extra fee. Please inquire about any special needs.

Touch up of additional digital files from the shoot is available for $50 per photo.

Regarding Pricing

You are a professional. Shouldn’t the photographer you commission to take your business portraits be just as professional as you are?

Two common misconceptions regarding professional photography are 1. Anybody can do it and 2. It only takes a fraction of a second to take a picture. Assuming either of these is true will result in failure.

Thanks to cheap digital cameras, and cell phone cameras it is true that anybody can take a picture. But to call that person a photographer is comparable to stating that a person with a pocket calculator is a CPA. The photos taken by such a person can do considerable harm to your professional image and your business.

The amount of time that pressing the button, or even the amount of time that the subject is in front of the camera respresent such a tiny fraction of the total time required to create and deliver your images that it almost wouldn’t show on a graph. A portrait session requires planning, setup, consultations, the shoot itself, preparing images for preview, touch up of selected images and preparation for online and print uses.

It takes years of practice and professional training to learn (and keep up with) both the technology and how to create effective images that get you more business (rather than costing you business). We also have the same overhead that any business supports, with the additional cost of highly expensive equipment with very short lifespans.

That said, the fastest way to realize you are dealing with someone who does not have the skill and experience to deliver the quality of photos you need is a price that indicates he has not yet learned that it takes more than a second to take a professional photo.
